Single Serve & Carafe Coffee Maker

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Clean cloth
  • Measuring cup
  • Fresh water
  • Keurig® descaling solution
  • Paper towels

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Unpack and Place: Remove all packaging materials. Place brewer on a clean, level, and stable surface away from heat sources and water splashes.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Wipe exterior with a damp cloth. Remove and rinse the water reservoir, drip tray, and carafe (if included).
  3. Water Reservoir: Fill reservoir with fresh, cold water. Ensure it's properly seated on the brewer.
  4. Power Connection: Plug into a dedicated 120V outlet. Do not use with extension cords or power strips.
  5. Prime the System: Perform initial brew cycle without a K-Cup® pod to flush the system. Discard this water.
  6. Carafe Setup: For Duo Plus models, place carafe on warming plate and ensure lid is properly positioned.
  7. Test Brew: Brew a single cup and carafe (if applicable) to ensure proper operation before first use.
Warning: Never use distilled, sparkling, or previously boiled water. Always use fresh, cold water for optimal performance and taste.

Brewing Options Explained

Single Cup Brew

Use any K-Cup® pod to brew 6, 8, 10, or 12 oz of coffee, tea, or hot cocoa in under a minute.

Carafe Brew

Brew 12-30 oz of coffee using your favorite ground coffee. Perfect for serving multiple people.

Iced Setting

Special brew strength for iced coffee drinks that won't get watered down when poured over ice.

Hot Water

Dispense hot water without a pod for tea, instant soups, oatmeal, or pre-warming your mug.

Programmable Delay Brew

Set the brewer to start automatically so coffee is ready when you wake up (select models).

Warming Plate

Keep your carafe coffee hot for up to 2 hours (K-Duo Plus models feature 30-60 minute warming).

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Brewer won't turn on Power issue, not plugged in properly Check power outlet, ensure plug is fully inserted, try different outlet
Weak or no coffee flow Clogged needle, mineral buildup, wrong pod Descale brewer, clean exit needle, use approved K-Cup® pods
Carafe not brewing Carafe not detected, lid not closed Ensure carafe is properly positioned, close carafe lid completely

Indicator Lights & Messages

  • Add Water: Reservoir is empty or not properly seated
  • Descale: Mineral buildup detected - run descaling procedure
  • Prime: First use or after long storage - run water through system
  • Carafe Missing: Carafe not detected on warming plate
  • Overheating: Brewer too hot - unplug and wait 30 minutes
  • Ready: Brewer is heated and ready to brew
