Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and taste.

  1. Daily: Wipe exterior with a damp cloth. Empty and rinse the drip tray and water reservoir.
  2. Weekly: Remove the funnel (if applicable) and wash with warm, soapy water. Clean the needle that pierces the K-Cup® with a paperclip to remove coffee grounds.

  4. As Needed: Descale when the "DESCALE" alert appears on the LCD.

CAUTION! Unplug the brewer and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Never immerse the brewer base, cord, or plug in water.

Descaling Procedure

Descaling removes mineral buildup from internal lines. Use Keurig Descaling Solution or a vinegar-water mix.

  1. Empty the water reservoir. Fill it with 48 oz. of descaling solution or a mix of half white vinegar and half water.
  2. Place a large mug on the drip tray.
  3. Press POWER, then MENU. Navigate to "Descale" mode using the CUP SIZE buttons. Press BREW to start.
  4. The brewer will run the solution through in stages. Follow on-screen prompts, emptying the mug as needed.
  5. After the solution cycle, rinse the reservoir thoroughly and fill with fresh water. Run multiple brew cycles (without a K-Cup®) until the vinegar odor is gone.

WARNING! Descaling solution/vinegar is not for consumption. Ensure all solution is flushed out before brewing beverages.
