Cleaning Supplies Needed:
- Mild dish soap
- Soft cloth or sponge
- Clean, lint-free towel
- Cotton swabs
- Warm water
Daily Cleaning Steps
- External Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Drip Tray Removal: Remove and empty the drip tray. Wash with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly before replacing.
- K-Cup Holder: Remove the K-Cup holder and rinse with warm water. Dry completely before reinstalling.
- Water Reservoir: Empty any remaining water daily. Rinse with clean water and dry with a clean towel.
- Needle Cleaning: Use a paper clip or Keurig cleaning tool to clear any coffee grounds from the exit needle.
- Funnel Cleaning: Remove and clean the funnel assembly with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Important: Never immerse the coffee maker base, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
Descaling Process
Descaling Supplies Needed:
- Keurig Descaling Solution or white vinegar
- Fresh water
- Large mug (minimum 10 oz)
- Measuring cup
Step-by-Step Descaling
- Prepare Machine: Empty the water reservoir and drip tray. Ensure the machine is powered on.
- Mix Solution: Fill the reservoir to max line with either Keurig Descaling Solution or a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water.
- Start Descaling Cycle: Place a large mug on the drip tray. Press and hold the 8oz and 10oz buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to enter descale mode.
- Brew Without K-Cup: Lift and close the handle without inserting a K-Cup. Select the largest cup size and begin brewing.
- Repeat Process: Continue brewing until the "Add Water" light illuminates. Discard the liquid in the mug after each brew.
- Rinse Thoroughly: Empty reservoir, rinse thoroughly, and refill with fresh water. Repeat brewing process 12 times with fresh water to rinse system.
- Final Check: Once complete, the machine will exit descale mode automatically. Discard the first post-descaling brew.
Frequency: Descale every 3-6 months or when the "Descale" light illuminates, depending on water hardness and usage frequency.
