Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Place on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface near a power outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers from the brewer and carafe.
  2. Wash the carafe, lid, and ground coffee filter basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Place the drip tray in position. Insert the water reservoir into the back of the brewer.
  4. Fill the reservoir with fresh, cold water. Plug the power cord into a 120V outlet.

WARNING! Keep cord away from heated surfaces. Do not immerse brewer, cord, or plug in water.

First-Time Use

Prime the brewing system before first use to ensure optimal performance.

  1. Ensure the water reservoir is full and properly seated.
  2. Place a mug on the drip tray. Do not insert a K-Cup pod.
  3. Select "Single-Serve" mode. Press the 8 oz., 10 oz., or 12 oz. brew button.
  4. Allow the brewer to run a full cycle, dispensing hot water into the mug. Discard the water.
  5. Repeat this process 2-3 times to fully prime the system. The brewer is now ready for use.

CAUTION! The water and brewed coffee will be very hot. Handle with care.

Controls and Settings

Control Panel: POWER button, BREW SIZE buttons (6, 8, 10, 12 oz for single-serve), CARAFE button, STRENGTH button, PROGRAM button, HOT WATER button.

Display: Shows clock, programmed time, brew size, and status icons (Descale, Add Water).

Settings: Use PROGRAM button to set the clock and auto-brew time for the carafe. Use STRENGTH button in Carafe mode to select Regular or Strong brew. POWER button turns display on/off; brewer will enter Auto-Off after 2 hours of inactivity.

Brewing Options

Single-Serve (K-Cup) Brewing:

  1. Lift and lower the brew handle to open the K-Cup holder.
  2. Insert a K-Cup pod. Close the handle firmly.
  3. Place a mug (up to 7" tall) on the drip tray.
  4. Select your desired brew size (6, 8, 10, or 12 oz.) by pressing the corresponding button.
  5. Brewing begins automatically. The "Brewing" light will illuminate.

Tip: For a stronger single cup, use the STRENGTH button before brewing (selects smaller water volume for same pod).

Using the Carafe

Carafe Brewing with Ground Coffee:

  1. Ensure the carafe is empty, clean, and properly positioned on the warming plate.
  2. Insert the permanent filter basket into the brew basket area.
  3. Add desired amount of ground coffee (1 tbsp per cup is recommended).
  4. Fill the water reservoir. Press the CARAFE button.
  5. Select brew strength (Regular or Strong) using the STRENGTH button if desired.
  6. Press the CARAFE button again to start brewing. The full carafe will brew in approximately 8 minutes.

WARNING! The carafe and warming plate will be hot during and after use. Use the handle.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Daily: Wipe exterior with a damp cloth. Empty and rinse the drip tray and drip tray cover.

Weekly: Wash the carafe, lid, and filter basket with warm, soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Monthly: Clean the water reservoir and the needle that pierces the K-Cup. Unplug brewer. Use a paperclip to gently clear any blockage in the top and bottom needles.

CAUTION! Always unplug the brewer and allow it to cool completely before cleaning internal parts.

Descaling

The "Descale" light will illuminate when mineral buildup requires removal. Use Keurig Descaling Solution or white vinegar.

  1. Empty the water reservoir and carafe.
  2. Fill reservoir with 16 oz. of descaling solution or a mixture of half white vinegar and half water.
  3. Place a large mug on the drip tray. Do not use a K-Cup pod.
  4. Press POWER, then press and hold the 8 oz. and 12 oz. brew buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to start descale mode.
  5. Press the 12 oz. brew button repeatedly to cycle solution through the brewer until reservoir is empty.
  6. Rinse thoroughly by filling reservoir with fresh water and running multiple brew cycles (without a pod) until vinegar odor is gone.
