Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, level, heat-resistant surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, and ground coffee filter with warm soapy water; rinse thoroughly.
  3. Insert charcoal water filter into reservoir (if using). Soak filter 5 minutes first.
  4. Fill water reservoir with fresh cold water and place back on unit.
  5. Plug into 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Keep away from edges. Ensure unit is on stable surface to prevent tipping.

First-Time Use

Prime the system before first brew.

  1. Power on: Press POWER button.
  2. Prime: Without K-Cup or grounds, place mug or carafe, select largest cup size, start brew cycle. Repeat 2-3 times until water flows freely.
  3. Set clock: Press and hold PROGRAM button, use HOUR/MINUTE buttons to set time.
  4. Set auto-off: Press and hold AUTO OFF button to select 0, 2, or 4 hours.
  5. Brew first coffee: Follow brewing instructions for desired method.

CAUTION! Do not use without priming. Hot water may splash during initial cycles.

Controls and Settings

Control Panel: POWER button, Brew size buttons (6, 8, 10, 12 oz, CARAFE), STRONG button, PROGRAM button, HOUR/MINUTE buttons, AUTO OFF button, Display (clock, brew size, alerts).

Settings: Clock set, Programmable brew time, Auto-off timer (0/2/4 hrs), Strong brew toggle, Brew size selection.

To program brew time: Press PROGRAM, use HOUR/MINUTE to set time, press PROGRAM again. To toggle strong brew: Press STRONG before brewing (light indicates on).

Brewing Options

Single-Serve (K-Cup):

  1. Lift brew head handle, insert K-Cup pod, close firmly.
  2. Place mug on drip tray (minimum 6 oz size).
  3. Select cup size (6, 8, 10, 12 oz). Press STRONG if desired.
  4. Press brew button; cycle completes in under 1 minute.

Carafe (Ground Coffee):

  1. Insert ground coffee filter into filter basket.
  2. Add ground coffee (1 tbsp per cup).
  3. Place empty carafe on hot plate.
  4. Press CARAFE button, then select cup amount (2-12). Press STRONG if desired.
  5. Press brew button; cycle takes several minutes.

Tip: Use fresh cold water and clean components for best taste.

Cleaning & Descaling

Daily: Wipe exterior with damp cloth. Empty and rinse water reservoir. Wash carafe, lid, filter basket.

Weekly: Clean brew needle: Power off, unplug, use paperclip to clear holes in needle.

Descaling (every 3-6 months):

  1. Mix descaling solution or white vinegar with water (50/50).
  2. Fill reservoir, place large container on drip tray.
  3. Power on, start brew cycles without K-Cup/grounds until reservoir empty.
  4. Rinse reservoir, refill with fresh water, run 2-3 cycles to rinse.

WARNING! Unplug before cleaning. Never immerse unit in water.

Carafe Use & Care

Glass carafe is dishwasher safe (top rack). Lid and filter basket are hand wash only.

  1. Always use carafe on hot plate; do not place on stove or microwave.
  2. Pour slowly to avoid splashing.
  3. Do not use if chipped or cracked.
  4. Adjust hot plate temperature: Press and hold AUTO OFF while carafe is present to toggle between low/medium/high.

CAUTION! Carafe gets hot; use handle. Allow to cool before washing.

Safety Information

Read all instructions before use. For household use only. Do not operate without water. Keep away from children. Unplug when not in use. Do not use if cord or plug is damaged. Use only original components. Do not place on or near hot surfaces.
