Unpacking & Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a clean, level, stable surface away from edges.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers from brewer, carafe, and reservoir.
  2. Wash carafe, lid, and reusable filter (if included) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Place drip tray and carafe in position.
  4. Fill water reservoir with fresh, cold water and slide into place on the back of the brewer.
  5. Plug power cord into a standard 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Handle glass carafe with care. Ensure brewer is on a heat-resistant surface away from water sources.

First-Time Use

Prime the brewing system before first use to ensure optimal performance.

  1. Ensure water reservoir is full and properly seated.
  2. Press the POWER button to turn brewer on. The "Add Water" light may illuminate.
  3. Without a K-Cup pod, place a mug (at least 10oz) on the drip tray.
  4. Select the 12oz brew size and press the BREW button. The brewer will run water through the system.
  5. Repeat this priming process 2-3 times with fresh water to clear the system.
  6. Your brewer is now ready for normal use.

CAUTION! The first few brews may have a slight taste or odor; this is normal and will dissipate.

Controls and Settings

Access functions via the front control panel.

Control Panel: POWER, BREW (Single-Serve), CARAFE BREW, STRENGTH, HOT WATER, PROGRAM, BREW SIZE (6,8,10,12 oz), CARAFE SIZE (4-12 cups).

Indicator Lights: Power (white), Ready (green), Add Water (red), Descaling Alert (amber).

Settings: Program - Set clock and auto-brew time for carafe. Strength - Select BOLD for a stronger carafe brew. Auto-Off - Adjust via settings menu (2 hrs default, can be set to off). Brew Size - Select cup size for single-serve. Carafe Size - Select amount for carafe brew (4-12 cups).

Brewing with K-Cup Pods

Brews a single cup using a K-Cup pod.

  1. Press POWER to turn brewer on. Wait for READY light.
  2. Lift and lower the brew handle to open the K-Cup pod holder.
  3. Insert a K-Cup pod. Close the handle firmly.
  4. Place a mug (minimum 5oz) on the drip tray.
  5. Select your desired brew size (6, 8, 10, or 12 oz) using the BREW SIZE buttons.
  6. Press the BREW button. Brewing will begin and complete automatically.
  7. Lift handle to eject the used pod into the storage compartment.

Tip: For hotter coffee, run a hot water cycle without a pod into your mug first to preheat it.

Brewing a Carafe

Brews a full carafe using ground coffee.

  1. Press POWER. Ensure READY light is on and carafe is in place.
  2. Remove the carafe lid and brew basket.
  3. Place a paper filter or the included reusable mesh filter into the brew basket.
  4. Add ground coffee (1 tbsp per cup is standard). Do not exceed 12 cups worth.
  5. Reinsert the brew basket and close the lid.
  6. Select CARAFE BREW. Use CARAFE SIZE to choose amount (4-12 cups).
  7. Optional: Press STRENGTH for a bolder brew.
  8. Press CARAFE BREW again to start. Brewing will complete automatically.
  9. For programmed brew: Use PROGRAM button to set time. Add coffee and water the night before.

WARNING! Never brew a carafe without the carafe in place. The hot plate will keep coffee warm for up to 2 hours.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug brewer and allow to cool before cleaning.

Daily: Wipe exterior with a damp cloth. Empty and rinse drip tray, carafe, and lid.

Weekly: Wash removable parts (water reservoir, brew basket, carafe, lid) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. Wipe brew head with a damp cloth.

Monthly: Run a vinegar rinse or use Keurig Descaling Solution to clean internal tank (see Descaling section).

CAUTION! Do not immerse brewer, power cord, or base in water or other liquids. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Descaling

Descale every 3-6 months or when DESCALE light illuminates to remove mineral buildup.

  1. Empty water reservoir and carafe.
  2. Fill reservoir with 16oz of white vinegar and 16oz of fresh water.
  3. Place a large mug (at least 20oz) on the drip tray.
  4. Press POWER, then HOT WATER button to start dispensing the solution. Pause halfway to let it sit for 30 minutes.
  5. Complete dispensing. Discard solution in mug.
  6. Rinse reservoir thoroughly. Fill completely with fresh water.
  7. Run multiple brew cycles (without a K-Cup) using fresh water until vinegar odor is gone.

Note: For best results, use Keurig Descaling Solution. The process may vary slightly; refer to manual.

Troubleshooting
