Making Lattes & Cappuccinos

Utilize the built-in milk frother for specialty drinks.

  1. Prepare the milk: Pour cold milk (any kind) into the frother, not exceeding the MAX line.
  2. Select froth type: Press the MILK FROTHER button to choose COLD or HOT froth.
  3. Start frothing: Press the LATTE & CAPPUCCINO button. The frother will whisk the milk.
  4. Brew the coffee: While milk is frothing, brew a K-Cup pod (espresso or coffee) into your mug.
  5. Combine: Once frothing is complete (indicator light turns off), pour the frothed milk over the brewed coffee.
  6. For a cappuccino, use more foam. For a latte, use more steamed milk.

WARNING! The frother carafe becomes very hot. Always use the handle and allow it to cool before cleaning.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures performance and longevity.

Daily: Wipe exterior with a damp cloth. Empty and rinse the drip tray and water reservoir.

Weekly: Clean the frother immediately after use. Submerge only the frother lid and whisk in warm, soapy water. Wipe the frother interior with a damp cloth. Never immerse the main brewer unit in water.

Monthly: Run a water-only brew cycle (without a pod) to flush the system. Clean the needle that pierces the K-Cup pod with a paperclip to remove coffee grounds.

Descaling Process

Perform when the DESCALE light illuminates (approximately every 3-6 months).

  1. Empty the water reservoir. Fill it with 16 oz of white vinegar and 16 oz of water.
  2. Place a large mug (at least 20 oz) on the drip tray.
  3. Press and hold the 12 oz and STRONG buttons for 3 seconds to enter descale mode.
  4. Press the BREW button. The brewer will run the solution through the system.
  5. When the reservoir is empty, refill it with fresh water only.
  6. Press BREW again to rinse the system. Repeat the rinse cycle 2-3 times until vinegar smell is gone.
  7. The descale light will turn off when the process is complete.

CAUTION! Use only Keurig descaling solution or white vinegar. Do not use other chemicals.
