Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on clean, level surface.

  1. Remove packaging materials from all parts.
  2. Wash carafe and lid with warm, soapy water; rinse thoroughly.
  3. Fill water reservoir with fresh water and place back onto unit.
  4. Plug into grounded 120V AC outlet.
  5. Place empty carafe on warming plate.

WARNING! Do not use without water in reservoir. Ensure unit is on stable surface away from edges.

First-Time Setup

Power on brewer; follow initial setup prompts.

  1. Prime the system: Run water through without K-Cup pod to flush lines.
  2. Set clock: Use PROGRAM button to set current time.
  3. Select default brew size: Choose preferred cup size (8 oz recommended).
  4. Program auto-brew: Set time for automatic morning brew if desired.
  5. Test brew: Insert K-Cup pod and brew first cup.

CAUTION! Use only recommended accessories. Do not operate without carafe in place for carafe brewing.

Brewing Modes

Single-Serve Mode: For K-Cup pods. Carafe Mode: For full pot brewing.

  1. Ensure water reservoir is filled.
  2. Select mode: Press CUP/CARAFE button.
  3. For single-serve: Lift handle, insert K-Cup, close handle, place cup.
  4. For carafe: Place empty carafe on plate, add ground coffee to filter.
  5. Select brew size: Use +/- buttons.
  6. Select strength: Press STRENGTH button.
  7. Press BREW to start.

Tip: Preheat mug/carafe with hot water for optimal temperature.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Daily: Wipe exterior with damp cloth. Weekly: Clean water reservoir, drip tray, and K-Cup holder.

  1. Unplug unit and allow to cool.
  2. Remove and wash reservoir, drip tray, and carafe with mild detergent.
  3. Wipe brewing assembly with damp cloth.
  4. Run vinegar solution through monthly to prevent mineral buildup.

CAUTION! Never immerse unit in water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Descaling Procedure

Required when descale indicator lights or every 3-6 months.

  1. Fill reservoir with equal parts white vinegar and water.
  2. Place large cup or carafe under brew head.
  3. Press and hold BREW and STRENGTH buttons for 3 seconds to enter descale mode.
  4. Brew until reservoir is half empty, then pause for 30 minutes.
  5. Complete brewing cycle.
  6. Rinse by running 2 reservoirs of clean water through system.
